Playgroup!

Hey Ladies! I have been asked to take over the playgroup duties and I am very excited. My mind has been racing trying to figure out some fun activities that we can do over the course of the year and hopefully we will have a schedule up soon! (Any suggestions are welcome of course!) I am pretty sure that we will have playgroup at least twice a month and if we get a good turn out we can always up the frequency again. I know we have a lot of new moms in the ward and playgroup is a great way to meet and get to know each other.

Next week on Wed. the 27th we are going to go to Pump it Up. The open jump hours are 9:30-12:30 so lets meet there at 9:30 and of course you can leave when you want. 2 and under are free and 3 and up are $7.00 per kid....but if we get enough of a turnout we can buy a punch card and get in for $5.00 per kid. I will make an announcement on Sunday but please spread the word!!

Hula classes

My friend, Uila (wheela), is starting to teach Hula classes in her home. The classes will begin in February. There will be a class on Mondays from 11-11:30 for 4-5 year olds. There will also be a class for 14 and older on Monday from 4-4:30. I know there are a few of you out there who want to come and shake your stuff, this is your big chance. Anyone interested?

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a toy/clothing exchange? I don't know what to call it, but my at my sisters Fabulous Friday they had a spot where people could bring their used kids clothes, baby stuff, toys, etc. that they were going to be giving to Goodwill. Then people could take something if they thought their kid could use it. I thought this might be a good way to get rid of stuff that your kids don't use but is still in good condition. If enough people had stuff and was interested we could do it at the playgroup. I know I have some clothes and stuff I would love to get rid of and would love it if someone needed it! Let me know what you think.

December Playgroup

This month's playgroup is going to be making Applesauce Cinnamon Ornaments. They are pretty simple and fun to do. There will be sign up sheet going around this Sunday. We still need people to make some batches of the dough. I thought if we did it ahead of time it would be less of a mess. I might try and think of something else to do because I think these will be go pretty quick. If you have any ideas, please feel free to let me know! Here are the details:

Texas Caviar Recipe

Some of you were asking for the recipe of what I brought to play group so I thought I would just post it on here. I don't really go off of a recipe so here is what I used for the amount I brought yesterday.

3 medium sized Avocados
3 Tomatoes
1 can of Corn
1 can of Black Beans, drained and rinsed
Zesty Italian Dressing (I just pour some on until it looks right, maybe about 1/3 cup)

I have also had it with Cilantro and onion in it and that also makes it good.
